Day 3: Nov 29
A Wine Train journey is so much more than a tour or an excursion. It’s an unforgettable experience. An elegant train. Plush interiors. Polished, personalized service. And multiple courses of fresh, gourmet California cuisine as the lush vineyards of the Napa Valley landscape pass you by. Bringing a bygone era back in a luxuriously vintage setting. We will start the day with a short walk to the station and board the train to start our journey, with sparkling wine and a light gourmet breakfast of ciabatta and smoked salmon, berry parfait, and steel cut oatmeal brûlée to get your palate ready for the adventure ahead. The first stop is Silverado Vineyards, wines made from fruit grown in vineyards planted by Napa pioneers between 1865 and 1895. Learn about this storied estate and historic terroir. After an hour visit we re-board the train for your second course of asparagus bisque with white truffle oil and aged parmesan and organic Sonoma spring greens. The next stop is Whitehall Lane Winery & Vineyards. A crisp Bordeaux-style glass of Sauvignon Blanc in a secluded Tuscan-inspired garden. What began as one vision, one vineyard, is now seven prime Napa Valley vineyards. The high quality grape vines that produce some of the greatest wines in the world have deep roots reaching back to the mid 1800s. A stately meal is waiting for you back on board the train, with your choice of citrus braised pork belly or miso glazed fillet of salmon. The third winery is Grgich Hills Estate, selected by French judges as the finest white wine in the world in the 1976 Paris Tasting. Lastly the train rolls down the track, taking you back to the station, while you indulge in the fourth course—pastry chef’s daily creation.
Day 4: Nov 30
After an amazing 3 days in Napa we will travel back to San Francisco to journey back to home.
