The museum derives its name from the mansion’s ornate pink Georgian marble facade. Saunders, an entrepreneur and founder of Piggly Wiggly, began building the house in the early 1920’s, but due to a legal dispute with the New York Exchange, he had to declare bankruptcy and the unfinished building was eventually given to the city in the late 1920s for use as a museum. 1996 brought a surge of excitement when the beautiful Pink Palace Mansion reopened its doors to the public and revealed an all new permanent exhibit on life in early 20th century Memphis. We may choose to relax and enjoy our surroundings or spend the evening at a local Casino.

Branson
This morning we will visit a new attraction to be found in Branson – Titanic Branson. Towering 100 feet above Country Highway 76, it holds 400 priceless artifacts in twenty galleries. The structure is anchored in water to create the illusion of Titanic at sea, and the 90-minute, self-guided tour is designed to give guests the sensation of being an original passenger on Titanic’s 1912 maiden This afternoon will be a highlight of our tour, as we attend the Daniel O’Donnell concert at the Tri Lakes Theatre and listen to Ireland’s premier Country Music star. With over 500,000 sales per year Daniel O’Donnell enjoys world wide recognition. The excitement continues as we complete our day at the Shoji Tabuchi Show. With his beautiful wife Dorothy and delightful daughter Christina, the family that plays, sings, and dances encompasses all the wholesome values of truly great family entertainment. Day 10 – Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Today we will spend time at the Silver Dollar City – an 1880’s theme park that takes visitors on a remarkable journey back in time to experience true, old-fashioned Americana and Ozark splendor. We will enjoy the music, comedy and dance at 50 sensational stage shows throughout the day. We will continue on to more fun and incredible sights as we attend the famous Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theatre. The legendary Sons of the Pioneers will entertain us as we enjoy a hearty cowboy feast served straight off an authentic 1800s chuck wagon. We will then attend the outdoor theatre for a performance of Harold Bell Wright’s epic story of love, loss, power, hardship. The true meaning of life is immortalized every night on a star-lit stage. It takes over 80 actors and actresses, 40 horses, a flock of sheep, several guns and rifles, an actual burning log cabin, and a vintage 1908 DeWitt automobile to make the live action performance what it is – a legend.
