Today we will depart from Calgary for an overnight fliporght to Venice, Italy

Day 2 - Friday, July10, 2015 (B)


We will arrive in Venice, Italy in the afternoon and transfer to our overnight hotel.

Day 3 – Saturday, July 11, 2015 (B/L/D)

Venice, Italy

This morning we will enjoy a walking tour of the city to discover its treasures nestled amid charming squares, bridges and narrow streets and then hop aboard a classic Venetian gondola boat.
After exploring the Grand Canal and the smaller canals around the neighborhood of Venice, soak up the charms of the romantic city while wandering through thru picturesque cobblestone alleyways and squares.
Your knowledgeable guide will point out all the highlights of Venice from the area between Piazza San Marco (St Mark's Square) to Rialto Bridge. Next we will embark the beautiful cruise ship 'Norwegian Jade' to
begin our 'voyage of discovery'. The ship will depart at 5:00 pm from Venice as we journey to our next wonderful destination.

Day 6 - Tuesday, July 14, 2015 (B/L/D)

Athens, Greece

7:00am - 5:00pm

Follow the winding path to 'the upper city' entrance through the Propylaea gateway. Beyond, on the highest part of the hill, stands the crowning glory of the Acropolis, the Parthenon, looking out over the
graceful Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Old City below. After the Acropolis, you'll drive to both the old and new sections of Athens, separated by Hadrian's Arch. You'll pass the statue of
Lord Byron, the Corinthian Temple of Olympian Zeus and Constitution Square to the former Royal Palace. Here you'll have a chance to take a photo of the Presidential Guard or Evzones in traditional uniform,
as they stand watch over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Other sights on the drive include the Academy, National Gardens and the Old Marble Olympic Stadium, built in 1895 for the first modern Olympic Games.

Day 7 - Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Kusadasi, Turkey

Today you'll visit Ephesus, one of the most beautiful ancient cities in the world and learn its secrets. The city was dedicated to the goddess Artemis. Her temple was once considered the Seventh Wonder of the
Ancient World and attracted pilgrims worshipping the female; first Cybele, then Artemis and finally the Virgin Mary. Among the ruins lays an impressive amphitheater, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian,
the Scholastic Baths, the Lower Agora, State Agora, and Odeon. Returning to Kusadasi, enjoy refreshment and a presentation of carpets, leather or jewelry or return to your ship, which is within walking distance.

Day 8 - Thursday, July 16, 2015 (B/L/D)

Santorini Island, Greece

8:00am - 3:00pm

Following a short transfer by tender boat from your ship to the port of Athinios, you'll board the awaiting motorcoach that will transfer you to Perivolos Beach, located on the southern side of the island.
On arrival at the beach, you'll have the opportunity to swim in the crystal waters of the Aegean Sea, relax under the always shining Greek sun or even entertain yourself with the variety of watersports
(not included) available on the beach by local concessionaires. After a day of relaxation your coach returns you to the capital of the island, Fira where you'll have free time to stroll through the city
and admire the beautiful views of the caldera before taking the cable car down to the port to return by tender to your ship.

Day 10 - Saturday, July 18, 2015 (B/L/D)

Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

8:00am - 7:00pm

The day begins with a 1 ½ hour transfer to the city of Rome. The tour starts with and internal visit of the largest and most important amphitheater - the Colosseum. This imposing structure is 160 feet high and covers about 6 acres. It has four levels of seats and could hold 50,000 spectators who watched gladiatorial battles and other events. After visiting this magnificent structure with your guide, you'll continue to the Roman Forum which was the political, economic and religious center of ancient Rome. Walk through the ruins of various temples, tribunals and other buildings which were used for public and private business. From here, you'll continue to see an iconic fountain of Rome - the Trevi Fountain. The high-baroque Fontana di Trevi was designed by Nicola Salvi in 1732 and today is one of Rome's most spectacular fountains. Legend has it that you can ensure your return to Rome by tossing a coin in the fountain. After lunch, you'll proceed to Vatican City. Entrance is included into the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel. After your guide's explanation, you'll have free time to explore the surroundings or visit St. Peter's Basilica on your own and then drive back to Civitavecchia and to your ship.

Day 11 - Sunday, July 19, 2015 (B/L/D)

Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Italy

8:00am - 7:00pm

We will drive through the lovely Tuscan countryside en route to the historic town of Pisa, located on the banks of the Arno River. Your walking tour begins near Miracle Square. During World War II, much of Pisa was destroyed by German and Allied bombing, however the cathedral, baptistery and famous Leaning Tower escaped unharmed. Entrance is included into the leaning tower. There'll be some free time to admire the exterior of the campanile, better known as the Leaning Tower and enjoy some coffee or browse for souvenirs in Pisa before returning to your ship.

Day 12 - Monday, July 20, 2015 (B/L/D)

Cannes, France

8:00am - 6:00pm

Antibes is a very popular and pretty resort town that attracts locals and visitors alike. The old town is well preserved, with ramparts along the sea and a protective wall along the port. Spend some leisure time exploring this little gem of the French Riviera. Enjoy nice views over the Bay of Cannes during your drive. Walk by the best equipped leisure harbor of the Riviera, it lies between Fort Vauban to the north and the gate and ramparts of the Old District to the south. An orientation tour provides you with interesting information and scenic views towards the Maritime Alps and through narrow streets where flowers made their way. Your tour ends by the old market and you'll have approximately 1 1/2 hours of free time. Enjoy the pleasures of the beach, the town or visit the Picasso Museum on your own. There are bars and cafes offering tasty snacks, restaurants of all types and prices and lots of shops. There is a cozy sand beach at the foot of the ramparts with clear blue waters.

Day 14 - Wednesday, July 22, 2015 (B/L/D)

Valletta, Malta

8:00am - 6:00pm

A visit to the three cities - Senglea, Cospicua & Vittoriosa and a short ride aboard a typical Maltese boat is a great way to learn about Malta's extraordinary past and enjoy its colorful ports. Walk around Senglea, a fortified city in the Grand Harbour for a view of the historic bastions. Drive through Cospicua on your way to Vittoriosa. Its honorific name of Vittoriosa was granted as a result of its victorious stand in the Great Siege of 1565. Walk along the narrow streets of this city, admiring such historic sites as the Church of St. Lawrence and Fort St. Angelo, from the outside.Embark on a traditional Maltese 'Dghajsa' (boat) for a short trip within the Grand Harbour which served the Knights of St John for 268 years. Many wars were fought here and the British military also used the harbor for many years, but that is all in the past. Today, it is much quieter and you'll enjoy its grandeur and the views from the water's vantage point. Head to Marsaxlokk, for a photo stop and enjoy some free time in the open-air market of this colorful fishing village.

Day 15 - Thursday, July 23, 2015 (B/L/D)

Messina, Italy

8:00am – 6:00pm

Before reaching Mt. Etna, you'll enjoy a panoramic drive through Messina. Take in the scenery of the slopes of this magnificent mountain before arriving at Cratere Silvestri. From this vantage point, you'll be able to gaze out across the Catania Gulf. You'll have some free time to enjoy the major attraction - the crater and the remnants of the awe-inspiring streams of lava.
