Destination Wedding – Cabo San Lucas

100 2276On Oct 7th I had the pleasure of escorting the wedding group of Quentin Coe and Cherie Stromsmoe to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a 7-day stay at the RIU Palace. Cabo San Lucas is located at the southern most tip of the Baja California Peninsula between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. The RIU Palace is a five star all-inclusive resort with six restaurants, 2 large pools, swim up bars, unlimited leisure activities, and nightly entertainment. The RIU Palace is a beautiful place for a wedding with the landmark rock formation “El Arco” in the background. The wedding took place on the beach – the archway was covered in white lace and tiger lilies, the guests sat on white cloth covered chairs in the sand and torches lined the pathway where the flower girl Amber Muenchrath dropped flower petals. Next came her brother Braden Muenchrath and family friend Matthew Holst as ring bearers and finally the beautiful bride Cherie Stromsmoe with her parents Bruce Madsen and Rusty Stromsmoe. The wedding service was performed by a Mexican Justice of the Peace and translated by sister of the bride Shaunna Muenchrath. After the wedding champagne was served on the beach. The wedding group then made their way to the reception being held on the terrace of the Mexican restaurant with a view of “El Arco”. Supper was served as the sun set into the Pacific Ocean. For the next 5 days the family and friends of Quentin & Cherie’s had the opportunity to explore all Cabo San Lucas has to offer. Snorkeling at San Maria Bay, Glass Bottom Boat tour at lover’s beach, a day trip to Todos Santos, a Pirate Ship adventure and great shopping. And of course the nightlife in downtown Cabo – The Giggling Marlin, Squid Row and Cabo Wabo – where some were lucky enough to watch Sammy Haggard perform at his 2006 birthday bash. Could there be a more perfect way to start your life together then with your family and friends on a beautiful beach in a tropical location. Call today to start planning your Dream Wedding.

Destination Wedding – Playa Del Carmen

royal porto real 1 A gazebo on the beach at the Royal Porto Real in Playa del Carmen was the stunning setting for the wedding of Corinne Fischer and Scott Ball on November 15 Thirty four guests had flown from Calgary to join the couple in the celebration of their special day. A guitarist played classical music as the beautiful bride was escorted by her father to join Scott and their guests in the Gazebo to exchange vows. The three bridesmaids were lovely, and the gorgeous shade of their light blue dresses were complimented by the deep blue of the ocean in the background. The gentlemen accompanying Scott, were very handsome and ‘cool’, despite the temperature being well into the 30’s. After the wedding champagne was served to the happy group as photos were taken, and the afternoon was spent enjoying some of the many amenities offered by this 5* resort. Some chose to swim in one of the three pools, while others snorkeled in the warm sea, and a few just relaxed on the beach until it was time for cocktails on the lawn. The sun was setting and a mariachi band was playing Mexican music as the guests enjoyed cocktails and canapés. Soon it was time for the reception and a delicious meal was served followed by lots of fun , as guests were invited to recall incidents they had enjoyed with Corinne or Scott during their ‘growing up years’. For the remainder of the week the guests explored all of the many attractions the hotel and the surrounding area has to offer. Deep sea fishing, was chosen by the groom and some of his friends, others swam with dolphins at Xcaret, and of course some shopped on the famous 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen. This is a perfect way to start your life together, surrounded by your family and friends at an incredibly beautiful location.
